The Challenge

Michigan has lost over 800,000 jobs and our 14% unemployment rate has been the country’s highest for the past 49 months. Michigan has dropped from the 20th wealthiest state to the 37th and will be ranked 40th by 2010. And what are Lansing politicians doing about it?

They borrowed $400 million from future generations for more government spending today. They created the job-killing Michigan Business Tax and its 22% surcharge. And they cooked up hare- brained “jobs” schemes such as giving tax credits to filmmakers like Michael Moore to make their anti-America movies in Michigan!
Enough is enough. Lansing politicians had their chance. It’s time to elect new leaders like conservative Republican Michael Trebesh to bring common-sense economic solutions to state government.
